WE ARE BACK!

So.... after 75 days of wandering through Western Europe and North Africa (just the tip of it), living out of our 12kg loaded backpacks, traversing 37,448km by modes of transport of all sorts - plane, train, bus, ferry, boat, bike, blablacar,  shared cab, self-driven car, a hitchhike ride and a torturous camel ride - across national parks, mountains, lakes, rivers, seas, geothermal pools, desserts and stopping by 38 towns and cities....
We. Are. Back. FINALLY! (Still alive and kicking)

(check out our bursting bags)

This entire trip has just been one hell of an adventure. With almost zero couchsurfing experiences, we were thrown completely out of our comfort zone, trusting and living with strangers, who have since become our friends. We've encountered so many unexpected situations, met so many interesting people, experienced and did so many things we'd never done before - all of which have taught us precious lessons and contributed to the ever-growing list of stories that have turned into the cause of our struggles when we're home - tons of stories to be told that we simply do not know where to begin! But it has certainly been a fun few weeks catching up with family and friends and sharing our experiences with them!

And as some of you might already know, for this 75-day graduation trip, we challenged and dedicated ourselves to an important mission of sticking and keeping to a specific budget.
So you may now be wondering if we had managed to do so...
Well, we didn't because...
We managed to spend even LESS THAN the initial budget! WHOOP WHOOP!

Completing the 75 day trip is an accomplishment in itself, but having managed to complete it under our budget, we couldn't be more happy and thankful for how God has blessed and provided us with all that we needed and more!

Also, at the end of the day, travelling with a tight budget did not feel like, what we coined, as 'sufferage'. Far from anything like that, both of us fully agreed that travelling on a budget has made the trip much more interesting and enriching than it otherwise would have been; it gave us the chance to do and accomplish things we never thought we would and could do, allowed us become more like the locals than tourists, get to know more of their culture and their way of life and it definitely made us wiser, braver and we saw a different side of things altogether.

If you would like to know how we did it, learn about the tips of each country and city we've been, stay tune because we're bursting with information and we can't wait to share these juicy tips with you!

Away for 75 Days?! Say Whuttt

R: 30 days away from home scares me. What more 75 days away?! :O

During the week, as we were starting to purchase flight tickets and car reservations, the feeling of homesickness suddenly creeped in. I know it's still a few more months till our departure from Singapore but the thought of not being home for nearly 3 days is quite scary (at least for myself).

Are We Doomed to Suffer?

E: So these days I've been worrying quite a bit about our grad trip. We know we've got a budget to keep. But after researching on transport, car rental, tours, attractions and adding up the cost for our entire itinerary, I realized that we are reaallllyyy tight. And keeping to our budget means we are gonna have to be very careful with our spendings, especially when it comes to food, tours and attractions because these are the three items that we pay for based on our own discretion. And it makes me disappointed knowing that I would not be able to see/eat/do everything that I want.

THE Graduation Trip of a Lifetime!

So...why TwoTravellingToes?

It's not because we only have two toes to travel with and not because we like travelling with two toes. :P In Singapore, even though we're not in the same family, we both share the same family name/last name/surname, 'Toh'! Loving all things punny and funny, we decided to switch 'Tohs' with 'Toes' and BAM! the birth of our blog!

So to begin, we're both senior business students at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and...WE ARE GRADUATING in about a few months time. What better time than to spend this period of transition travelling, broadening our minds and meeting new people from different backgrounds and cultures!
